We Need Change:

Sponsor/Support Legislation to:

• Create a single-payer healthcare system in PA (Support the  "PA Guaranteed Healthcare Act") 

• Prohibit discrimination against those with pre-existing conditions.

• Ban dollar limits on essential benefits.

• Expand state Medicaid coverage to dental, vision, hearing, behavioral health and substance use treatment, etc. for both children and adults.

• Raise state Medicaid reimbursment rates to attract more PCP's, behavioral health specialists, OB/GYN's, etc.

 "Healthcare is a human right!! People are rationing medicine—if they can even afford to do that. They're foregoing life-altering and life-saving care because some billionaire wants to increase their profit margins this quarter. That's not going to happen when I'm in Harrisburg. I will ultimately advocate for a "Medicare for All" style system!

Sponsor/Support Legislation to:

• Cap rent increases (tie caps to CPI or median income.)

• Further fund and expand eligibility for PHARE and provide it with a stable revenue stream. 

• Authorize PHA's to build new permanantly affordable housing

• Require PHFA to prioritize actual, deep affordability...not just units that are "affordable" compared to already soaring market rates.

• Cap land rent increases for manufactured homes.

"Housing is a human right!! It is utterly absurd and unacceptable—in Pennsylvania, anyone should be without a warm, safe place to sleep at night. We need to change this, and we need to change it now! 

Sponsor/Support Legislation to:

• Raise minimum wage to a living wage for every Pennsylvanian; index for inflation, similar to that of surrounding states.

• Expand Pennsylvania child tax credit; Increase credit amount and income caps

• Supplement TANF with additional state funds; Increase income limits to avoid punishing families who save up money

• Increase state appropriations to the Child Care Works Program; Raise income eligibility caps.

• Expand eligibility for universal pre-k and increase per-child funding and staffing.

• Create anti price gouging legislation to target industries that exploit families through hidden fees with predatory pricing.

"Raising a family is a fundamental part of the American Dream!! But for far too long, it's just been getting more and more expensive—now, it's gotten to the point where so many of my friends, my age, don't even consider it a possibility due to the cost. We cannot afford to have our next generation of pennsylvanians grow up in a world like this. We have to act now.

Support Legislation to:

• Prohibit state and local law enforcement from using state funds to enforce federal immigration laws 

• Prohibit participation in 287(g) agreements 

• Prohibit the arrest of undocumented immigrants in courtrooms without warrant

• Prohibit ICE enforcement in schools, libraries, and any other related state-funded facilities.

• Prohibit PennDOT, DHS, and any other related state-funded agencies from sharing immigration status, addresses, employment records, and any public documentation with the federal government.

• Require state licensing/approval for any detention facility; require unnanounced inspections, public reporting, standards for medical access, etc.

 "Disabled women, snatched from their cars. Children, forced to film their own mothers being detained—right after those mothers showed their legal documents. Two U.S. citizens, summarily executed in broad daylight, for protesting this very injustice.

Is this the America you know? Is this what being an American means to you? ...Not to me. I promise I will do absolutely everything I can to use this platform to protest and fight against this blatant injustice and cruelty.
